1. Division of Two Numbers

Let's go through the steps of dividing two numbers.

Step 1: Write the dividend inside the division symbol and the divisor outside.

Example: Divide 234 ÷ 6

Step 1:

                234 ÷ 6

Step 2: Divide 23 by 6. The result is 3, and write it above the 3.

Example: 23 ÷ 6 = 3

Step 3: Multiply the divisor (6) by the quotient (3) and subtract from 23. Write the result below.

Example: 6 × 3 = 18. Subtract 23 - 18 = 5.

Step 4: Bring down the next digit (4) from the dividend.

Example: Bring down 4.
